TEHRAN (IQNA) – Mourning rituals will be held at the Imam Ali (AS) Islamic Center in Stockholm, Sweden, this week on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Sadiq (AS).

Peace be upon Imam Sadiq (AS)

The center’s prayer hall will host the program on Thursday, May 17, it said.

The program will include recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, recitation of the Kumayl Supplication, speeches, and elegy recitation.

The center has invited the devotees of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) to take part in the rituals, which will start at 7 PM local time tomorrow.

Imam Jafar Sadiq (AS), the sixth Imam, attained martyrdom on the 25th of Shawwal in the year 148 AH.

It was during the Caliphate of Abu Jafar Mansoor Abbasi. Imam Sadiq (AS) lived 65 years.

He had the longest life amongst the other Imams (AS) except Imam Zaman (may God hasten his glad advent). Thus, he is also called the Sheikh-ul-Aimma.

Shia Muslims and others in Iran and other countries hold various rituals to mourn the martyrdom of the 6th Imam (AS).
